Yes, this is over a month old, but I took some time to make a one-year DVD for various family members and its amazing how much time building a DVD can consume. With that excuse out of the way, here’s a short recap of our day at the Apple Orchard with Kyler.

This has become somewhat of a tradition, as it was the first “outing” we took him on when last year just a few weeks after he was born. As you can see, he enjoyed it much more this time around.

Perfect (and warm) fall days are a rare thing in Minnesota so when one comes around we try to take advantage of it. Yesterday we spent some time taking lots of fall pictures (which gave me a chance to learn my new camera’s settings a bit better) and we’ll post more of those pictures later.

Today we started by grabbing Starbucks (after missing the late service at church) and heading to the docks in Wayzata where Kyler got to check out the lake, boats, ducks and trains All of which he found fascinating. We then went shopping where Kyler tried on some Halloween hats.

Kyler has figured out one of his mom and dad’s favorite simple pleasures: a morning cup of coffee. In his case, we skip the coffee and stick to just the cup.

A friend of ours setup a photo shoot with a bunch of families that had babies that were all about the same age. It was a GREAT idea and you can see selected photos by visiting the photographer’s website or checking out the page for the baby photo shoot.

The shoot was at Como park, which meant we would take highway 394 to get there - except it was shut down that weekend. We took the detour that was set up.

Kids at home: never take the detour. It can only end up taking way more time than you think it will.

Anyway… 45 minutes late, we ended up at the shoot, which was just enough time to sneak in some great shots.

Johna is officially a CPA now (proof below). It wasn’t until I watched her go through the process that I realized just how much work getting your CPA is. She spent countless hours studying, practice test taking and watching some of the most boring (to me) instructional video lessons I’ve ever seen (imagine the guy who does infomercials for “placing TINY little ads…” teaching a CPA course!).

Congratulations, J on this HUGE accomplishment!

Be sure to check out the pictures (below). We couldn’t help take a few videos either… and I couldn’t help work some editing magic…

We’re back.

We had a very fun time on this trip. It certainly was a different experience with a 4-month old (you’ll have to listen to upcoming episodes of my Netcot Podcast to hear more about that). Now that we’re home, Kyler has been doing some serious napping. Its almost like he knows he’s home and can relax and un-wind from a very busy couple of weeks.

The grand total of photos this year was 345 and about 2 DVDs worth video (that still needs to be edited together). I’ll spare you the balance of the 345 pictures that I haven’t posted yet (mostly because a lot just aren’t that interesting - or are very similar to what I have posted) and instead leave you with this final set below.
